I recently completed a 28,000-mile circumnavigation of the North and South American continents aboard the scientifically-equipped sailboat, Ocean Watch. The sponsored Around the Americas expedition departed from Seattle in May, 2009, and returned to Seattle in June, 2010. The purpose of the voyage was to acquire scientific data and raise awareness about the seas and oceans surrounding the two continents.
This was my third expedition to the Arctic's Northwest Passage with two successful passages now in both directions. I have been able to witness changes in the Arctic's environment and also observe the Earth's natural systems at work during this time. I am currently speaking and exhibiting about the Earth's climate, polar regions, seas and oceans and modern-era exploration with a new purpose.
New book and documentary productions are underway as well exciting presentations available to the public at various venues and institutions.
Please take some time to visit my blog for news, exhibition and speaking schedules. Visit aroundtheamericas.org for a recap of the latest expedition. Thanks for stopping by and see you at a port of call soon.
